       Music Connection Magazine

@ Whisky a Go Go - Los Angeles

Timothy Craig was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Southwest, Florida.

His passion for music undoubtedly stems from his father Vilas Craig, who put himself through college writing songs and fronting a five-piece Rock n' Roll band in the 60's. Surrounded by vintage guitars, classic drum kits and tube amplifiers, Timothy formed his first rock band in seventh grade. The CT2 Express played lots of gigs, though never outside his living room.

While in college in Gainesville

Florida, inspired by Tom Petty,

John Mellencamp, Jimmy Buffett, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger and Bryan Adams, Timothy began writing his own songs. Realizing that the closest music biz town was Nashville, he moved there, put a band together and spent years playing his original Roots Rock / Americana brand of music in clubs and festivals including: Summer Lights, Fall Fest at the

Belle Meade Mansion, Bellevue Music Fest, opening for Cheap Trick at Nashville's Riverfest and playing several shows at the Tennessee State Women's Prison! Timothy also established his own record label

Ball & Chain Entertainment and released his first EP of original music Steps Toward the Door. A few years later he released two full length albums Rip, Roll & Ride and State Line.

State Line was produced by Bill Cuomo. Bill is best known for his keyboard playing on several big records in Los Angeles, acts like

Don Henley, Whitesnake and REO Speedwagon, just to mention a few. Bill also co-wrote "Oh Sherrie" recorded by Steve Perry of Journey. Bill took Timothy in his Nashville studio and recorded ten of Timothy's songs to shop around to labels. The album caught the attention of Bill Aucoin in Miami. Aucoin, best known for discovering the band KISS and managed the group for nearly a decade. Aucoin also managed Billy Idol and several other acts. Aucoin was forming his own record label Splash Records in Miami to be a joint effort with Sire Records in New York. Aucoin flew to Nashville to see Timothy and his band live at a private showcase and then flew out again to Los Angeles a few months later to catch Timothy's band rehearsals in North Hollywood. Timothy's album State Line was going to be Aucoin's first project / flagship act signed to the label. Aucoin battled cancer and passed away before pulling Splash Records together. The album was released by Timothy and Bill Cuomo in 1999.

January 2000, Timothy moved to

Los Angeles, put a new band together and sang his songs in all the legendary LA clubs like the Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, Club Lingerie and the Hard Rock Cafes. Timothy also performed between the Hollywood All-Star baseball game and the

Los Angeles Angels baseball game at the Angels stadium. In 2004, he released his fourth CD entitled,

Grand References. After landing various acting gigs, including the role of Phil Everly of The Everly Brothers on the NBC television series 'American Dreams' and the role of a police officer alongside Emmy Award winning Kim Delaney on an episode

of the ABC television series

'NYPD Blue', Timothy joined the Screen Actors Guild (SAG / AFTRA).
